Baby Shower

A sweet friend of mine is expecting twin girls. My due date is two weeks later than hers and it's been fun to share this pregnancy time with her. She let me throw a shower for her, which I really had fun doing. I went a little more crazy with the decor than I normally do (yes, for me this is a lot of decorating!) but, hey, it's twins! and they're girls!! I took very few photos, because well, it's kind of hard to host and photograph at the same time. And also there were all those last minute things I was doing right up until people started showing up, so I had no "before" time to document my set-up. Anyways. Enjoy!

Many thanks to all those who attended and to those who helped out in anyway, especially those who contributed to the refreshments, Trista & Kara for the awesome parasols, and Sherrill for the beautiful cherry blossom stamp. (If you ever need stamps, Sherrill is your girl!! and she's having a contest! Quick, go enter it!!!)

My attempt at getting something "photo contest worthy"! The girls & Sherrill and I were treated to a tour of Grandma Daisy's and lesson on how to make chocolates! My favorite chocolates ever are the coconut haystacks (which Beth says are one of their best-sellers) and a chocolate orange fudge (which I've only found at one fudge shop and sadly it wasn't Grandma Daisy's).

Some of the deliciousness sold at Grandma Daisy's.

Tastey treats, clockwise from bottom left on the table: Turtles, toffee, bowls of nuts & peppermint chunks, various flavors of fudge, one carmel apple, and I'm not sure what's in the basket or that plate wrapped up in the center.
Beth let the girls try their hand at dipping.
The Finished Product! A chocolate-dipped Oreo with peppermint chunks.

Yum!

I Have a Yummy Face... and my cake was yummy too!

Isn't this face just delicious?

Can you believe that this little guy...
...has grown into this??
From these....
....to these!!
The dude is getting a brother soon. (Poor kid! He won't know what hit him!) I asked mom to lie on her back and a funny thing happened. Her belly disappeared! Having not been pregnant for a while, I've forgotten that you do look less pregnant when you lie down like this. But we gave it a try anyways.
Happy First Birthday!!! There is some serious cake talent in this family. Grandma is quite talented. For Zane's baby shower (before he was born!), she make baby blocks. Two blocks stacked on top of three blocks and turned so they were all angular and floating and super impressive!! Wow, I am so amazed at the things people come up with!! I recently found out about a show called The Ultimate Cake Off. Wow and wow. And I am still impressed by this wedding cake. And I'm not even that big of a cake eater! OK, back to the Birthday Boy....
This is his personal cake.
This is the sheet cake for the rest of us. Tastey pudding filling and perfect frosting. I think I've been over-caked by Costco sheet cakes. (Oh, great! Now I've hurt Costco's feelings. Come'on, you know I love Costco. I was just there tonight.)

Dig in Birthday Boy.
Aaaagggghhh! Cake Thief!!!!
Zane eventually put his whole face in the cake, hence the frosting on the nose.
And by the time he was through.....

A Gift of Love

Saturday morning, the ladies of the Henderson Nevada Eldorado Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gathered for a morning of service. What a hard working group!!!
I don't remember the final tally on how many boxes or kits or packages we packed. If anyone has got that, leave a comment! Also, obviously, I don't know everybody in these pictures. If you can name them, leave a comment!
Thank you everyone for all your hard work, especially those who were involved in all the planning and coordinating and the delicious lunch!
